Romance is a highly personal concept and no single travel destination will fit everyone’s taste. For some it’s a luxurious hotel suite with all the trimmings and others it’s sleeping under the stars on a camping trip. Then it may be a secluded cottage in the country, a relaxing riverside retreat or a tropical rainforest hideaway. One thing for sure, in NSW we are spoilt for choice of fabulous destinations to suit all notions of romantic escapes.
One of my favourites is Halcyon House at Cabarita Beach. Think Amalfi chic with laid back north coast vibe. It’s a dream holiday retreat, a breezy fine-diner, convivial beach bar and full service love shack. With the Pacific Ocean creating a stunning backdrop this gem is just a short drive up the highway.
If the Hunter Valley tickles your fancy check out the Boathouses at Leaves & Fishes at Lovedale. These enchanting cottages are set on the lakefront and are an idyllic hideaway for romantics. Sit on your private deck sipping your favourite wine whilst enjoying the water lily filled pond. You may be reluctant to leave even to explore the regions wineries.
If the great outdoors is more to your taste, try Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort. This ultra-luxury resort is located between two National Parks and spread out at the foot of towering cliffs within its own private conservation and wildlife reserves. Enjoy spotting wildlife, breathtaking natural beauty, four-wheel drive tours, nature walks and horse riding.
